There are several ways to make additional preset trees. These trees can be reused again later in Carrara.

Method 1: Save a tree to the object browser

Carrara has the ability to save any trees you create into the object browser, located in the drawer on the left side of your screen.

To do this, create a tree, and return to the Assemble room.

Next, open up the Sequencer drawer at the bottom of the screen. Also open up the Object Browser drawer on the left side of the screen.

When the File Info dialog opens, you can give this particular tree a name.

Method 2: Edit the TDD files directly

The TDD files, which are located in the Presets directory, can be edited using an ordinary text editor. Although this is not recommended, it is possible to do, if you're very careful.

NoteEditing TDD files by hand can cause Tree Druid for Carrara to crash, if the wrong values are used.

See the Reference portion of this User Guide, for additional details on the TDD file format.

Method 3: Use Tree Druid (standalone) to create TDD files

We won't go into detail on this method here. The standalone version of Tree Druid creates and edits TDD files, using a powerful graphical editor. The resulting TDD files can be used as presets for Tree Druid for Carrara. The standalone version is available separately for Windows only, at the Zenstar website.
