The Environment Sliders

Environment section of dialog

Control  Action/effect
Wind  Sets the strength of the wind blowing against the tree.
Wind Direction  Sets the direction the wind comes from.
Gravity  Sets the strength of gravity acting upon the tree.
Sunlight  Sets the strength of sunlight, which causes the tree to reach up to the sky.
Season  Controls the leaves. In spring, the leaves come out separately, and grow. All leaves are out by Summer. Leaves fall to the ground in the fall, until there are no leaves left in the Winter.
Remove fallen leaves  When checked, leaves that come off the tree in Fall, will be removed from the scene. If not checked, the leaves will fall to the ground, with the same orientation they had on the tree.

NoteHow much a particular tree is affected by tropisms (wind, gravity, sunlight) is pre-determined for each species inside the TDD file. Some trees are "pre-bent" by design. In this case, the sliders will set how much additional wind, gravity, or sunlight is applied to the tree.
NoteSome trees are not affected by tropisms at all, if their limbs, branches, etc. are designed that way. Suppleness can be set separately for trunk, limbs, leaves, etc inside the TDD file. Tree Druid Standalone can edit the suppleness values separately, and demonstrate in real time what the effects are upon the tree.
